M/S Sai Safari Boat Lake Nasser Cruiser
Schedule: Mondays from Aswan and Fridays from Abu Simbel
Overview:
Eco-tourism is a young concept to Egypt, and we consider ourselves pioneers. Our goal is to assist the Nubian community in improving their land without damaging the environment. Sai was created to satisfy our eager passion to be immersed within the beauty of Lake Nasser, and unravel its monuments' stories. We are now ready to unlock all the adventures that lie within the Nubian Lake.
We have gone out of our way to guarantee that Sai is the greenest boat in the region. Taking 5 years to complete, Sai was handcrafted out of wood, making it very light with minimal fuel consumption. It has an efficient generator equipped on board to provide electricity. With Sai we rest assured that we can relish the majestic beauty of Upper Egypt, without the guilt of hurting the ecosystem.
Floating 26m in length and stretching 6.5m wide, Sai is equipped to accommodate 12 guests in six, two passenger cabins. Four are located on the main deck and the remaining two are to be found upstairs. While all cabins possess private bathrooms, the two on the upper deck have the added feature of private terraces that provide stunning views of Lake Nasser during our voyages. Inspired by traditional Nubian style, Sai bears an elegant and cozy ambience especially in the lounge bar and restaurant.
Our days start in the early hours of the morning, since this is the most intriguing time to observe the wildlife of the Nubian Lake. Everyday our chef prepares a broad range of local and international dishes using only the freshest ingredients available in Upper Egypt.
Along our tranquil cruises, aside from soothing swims, naturists will love our hikes along the banks of Lake Nasser. To those looking to explore the world within, the calmness of the region is perfect for yoga and meditation and Nubia is the perfect place to find spiritual transcendence. And for those really looking to immerse themselves in the unfamiliar wonders of Lake Nasser, camping along the banks is highly encouraged.*

4 Day/ 3 Night Abu Simbel to Aswan Every Friday
Day 01: Friday
We will board SAÏ after a tour of the Ramses II and Nefertari temples at Abu Simbel. Once on board, we will initiate a four hour sail to Kasr Ibrim also known as Ibrim Palace.
Converted into a fortress during the Ottoman Period, it is the only monument that stands unmoved from its original location. Although the Palace was victim to several lootings and damage by thugs, it is still home to an assortment of remains from the Christian and Islamic periods. Here SAÏ will dock as we plan on spending the night in one of the creeks of the area.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 02: Saturday
Rising in the early hours of the morning, breakfast will be served and soon we shall be on our way to watching some of the many species of migratory birds that flock to the Nubian Lake during the winter. The faint hum of SAÏ's motor will lead us down to the temples of Amada, Pennout and El Derr, which we expect to reach by noon.
After uncovering the wonders of every temple, we will return on board and continue our adventure. Sailing through the mountainous region of Korousko and Wadi El Arab, one of Nubia's largest valleys, we will take our last swim of the day as SAÏ throws anchor for the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 03: Sunday
On this day we travel down Lake Nasser with the goal of discovering two relocated temples, known for their unique sculptures and delicate beauty:
Dakka (Greek: Pselchis): Erected in the same site by the Nubian king Ergamenes II along with Ptolemy II whilst they shared rule over Lower Nubia in the Third century. Later, the temple was refurbished by Roman Emperors Augustus and Tiberius.
Wadi El Seboua: Accessed through a pathway of sphinxes bearing Ramses's effigy, this temple was built by the Pharaoh Ramses II in dedication to the Gods Amun-Re and Ra.
Back on board, the boat will journey to spend the night in one of the bays of Khour El Alaki.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 04: Monday
Breakfast will be served as we make an early departure towards Aswan city. This particular route features a beautiful display of the Lake's banks. We will be visiting the original sites of Beit El Wali and Kalabasha along with enjoying a final dip in the lake before concluding our journey at Aswan.

5 Day/ 4 Night Aswan to Abu Simbel Every Monday
Day 01: Monday
After boarding the boat we commence our journey sailing south towards the temples of Kalabsha and Beit el Wali.
Lunch will be served as our boat sails to the original site of the Kalabsha temple. Here we will enjoy a swim in the lake accompanied with the serving of refreshments. As the day comes to an end we will anchor at the Khour El Ghazal Creek where we will have a starlit dinner before retiring for the night.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 02: Tuesday
During sunrise we will leave the boat looking to catch sight of the gazelles and wild donkeys that graze on the banks of the Nubian Lake. Back on board SAÏ, we will embark in the direction of Wadi El Seboua making several fascinating stops along the way.
Soon we will arrive at the site of Abu Sheta; a region in the Nubian Desert with a reputation for exciting hikes filled with golden sand dunes and congregations of exotic birds in small lagoons.
SAÏ will then take us to the village of Maria on the Lake's western side where will we go for a swim in its glistening waters. We will anchor to spend the night at Wadi Al Seboua.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 03: Wednesday
Moving along, we will sail towards one of the most tranquil bays of the Nubian Lake, Wadi El Arab, where we will swim in its confined waters. Following on, SAÏ will move towards the Amada Temple, with a broad display of the local fishermen's houses on the way.
Occasionally on this route we are privileged to see some of the lake crocodiles as they surface for sunlight. Our day will come to an end with a quiet sunset, as SAÏ makes its final stop of the day in Amada.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 04: Thursday
First thing in the morning we will glance at the various nomadic birds that visit Lake Nasser annually as we leave our boat to peruse the temples of Amada, Pennout and El Derr. Returning to SAÏ we will make course towards Kasr Ibrim where we will swim in front of the vast fortress before embarking on an external tour of the palace.
Kasr Ibrim or the Ibrim Palace is the single monument on the Nubian Lake that stands unmoved from its original location. It contains a selection of remains from Egypt's Christian and Islamic periods and was eventually transformed into a fortress by the Ottomans. The resulting fusion of cultural artefacts gives the Palace a characteristic diversity. Unfortunately, the site was recently victim to damage and lootings by thugs.
Returning back to SAÏ, we will venture through the Masmas area, which is home to numerous Nubian villages. Soon in the distance the Abu Simbel Temples will start protruding from the horizon and emerging from the water, a gorgeous sight signifying the end of our prolific journey.
As night falls we have the option of attending the Sound and Light Show regularly performed in front of the temples.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 05: Friday
This day will be dedicated solely to exploring the vast wonders of the Abu Simbel Temples of Ramses II and his beautiful wife Nefertari.
