M/S Farah
Schedule: Every Monday from Luxor & Friday from Aswan
Overview:
Intelligently and elegantly designed, the Farah is one of the most unique ships on the Nile with several amenities that are uncommon to the Nile cruise industry. The Farah features a beautiful, open lobby with Mediterranean stone floors, a Sun Deck that is unlike any other, an elegant restaurant decorated in purple and white with postmodern features like stainless steel and crystals, a contemporary lounge, a spa with gymnasium, sauna, and steam all free of charge as well as a massage room with reasonable fees and some of the nicest cabins in the industry featuring handmade Egyptian cotton sheets and natural dark wood furniture.
But it is not just the design and decor of the ship that makes it special, it is the little touches. The Farah was designed so that no guest cabins would be near the engines. On the bottom floor next to the engines are the kitchen and restaurant and directly above the engines are the staff cabins and laundry. Every dinner in the main restaurant is on a ala carte basis featuring some of the finest food in Egypt including special choices for vegetarians. The Executive Chef offers an on board cooking class where you can learn how to cook authentic Egyptian food. There is free wireless internet throughout the ship including in all guest cabins. A library stocked with the works of Paulo Soelho in multiple languages can be found on the third floor. Of the sixty cabins on board fifty are on the upper decks. There is even a telescope on the sun deck so you can gaze at the night stars.
All Cabins and suites are equipped with LCD TV, mini bar, private safe box, wireless Internet connection, a private bathroom (with bathtub and hairdryer), panoramic soundproof windows that open to a French balcony and an individual control for the central air conditioner. The suites are roughly twice the size of the standard cabins with a separate bedroom and living room area. The Sun Deck has a swimming pool surrounded by lounge chairs for sunbathing, several private shaded sitting areas where you can enjoy the view, a pool bar and barbecue buffet. The main restaurant will serve buffet breakfast and lunch in addition to the ala carte dinners. The lounge is located on the main deck and has a full bar serving beer, wine and liquor so you can relax and enjoy the view while having a drink. From top to bottom this is one of the finest cruise ships in the world.
