Overview:
The Amoura is a two mast Egyptian dahabeya. It is 38 metres in length and 6.5 meters wide and has 6 double cabins and 1 double suite, meaning there is a maximum of 14 guests, plus the crew. As the dahabeya has no engine, there is always an accompanying motorboat for towing it if the wind is calm. There is, however, a 24 hour electric power supply, with an onboard generator, and it runs at 220V.

The cabins boast Egyptian cotton bedding, flat screen TV, and telephone with ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathrooms are equipped with a power shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer. You also have your own steward who is responsible for helping to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible.
The Owner's suite is fully air-conditioned and spans the full width of the rear of the ship. The suite is measuring 21sqm with a beautiful Lounge that opens onto its own private terrace which affords panoramic views of the Nile, perfect for entertaining or "when you just want to be alone". The Suite boasts Egyptian cotton bedding, telephone with ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathrooms are equipped with a power shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer. It has all of the luxury fittings of the cabins but in a more spacious and sumptuous setting.

4 Day/ 3 Night Aswan to Esna every Friday
Day 01: Friday HIGH DAM, PHILAE TEMPLE, UNFINISHED OBELISK
Staff will meet you at your Aswan hotel, the Aswan airport or the train station. Start the morning with a visit to the Aswan High Dam: Construction of the High Dam became a key objective of the Egyptian Government following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, as the ability to control floods, provide water for irrigation, and generate hydroelectricity were seen as pivotal to Egypt's industrialization. The High Dam was constructed between 1960 and 1970, and has had a significant effect on the economy and culture of Egypt. Continue to tour the Temple of Isis at Philae: Excluding a few remains from the Late Period, the existing Temple of Isis was constructed over some eight hundred years by Ptolemaic and Roman rulers who sought to identify themselves with the Osirian myth and the cult of Isis. An exquisite fusion of Ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman architecture, the temple complex harmonizes perfectly with its setting, sculpted pillars and pylons gleaming white or mellow gold against Mediterranean-blue water and black Nilotic rock. Then it's on to the Pharaohs granite quarries with the unfinished obelisk. Much of the red granite used for ancient temples and colossi came from quarries in the Aswan area. Around these quarries are many inscriptions which describe successful quarrying projects. The Unfinished Obelisk located in the Northern Quarry still lies where a crack was discovered as it was being hewn from the rock. Possibly intended as a companion to the Lateran Obelisk, originally at Karnak but now in Rome, it would have weighed over 2.3 million pounds and would have been the worlds largest piece of stone ever handled. However, a crack in the stone occurred, which caused it to be abandoned. Tools left by it's builders have given us much insight into how such work was performed. After the tour you are transferred to the Dahabiya Amoura. Lunch on board while sailing to Kom Ombo. Overnight Cruise / Kom Ombo
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
NOTE: Because of the tour operating in the morning it's best to overnight in Aswan the night before.
Day 02: Saturday TEMPLE OF TWO GODS, SAIL TO GEBEL EL SILSILA
Start your tour day at the Temple of Two Gods. The temple is unique because its double design means that there are courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two gods, Sobek and Haroeris. This was why the temple was called both "House of the Crocodile" and "Castle of the Falcon". Sail to Gebel el Silsila. The site contains many shrines erected by officials who would have been in charge of quarrying the stone. Almost all of Ancient Egypt's great temples derived their sandstone from here, such as Karnak, Luxor, Ramesses III's Medinet Habu, Kom Ombo, and the Ramesseum. Overnight Cruise / Gebel el Silsila
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 03: Sunday TEMPLE OF HORUS, SAIL TO ESNA
Early morning sail to Edfu with breakfast served enroute. The existing Temple of Horus was built during the Ptolemiac era on top of an earlier temple to Horus, which was oriented east-west instead of the current north-south configuration. The oldest part of the temple is the section from the Festival Hall to the Sanctuary; this was begun by Ptolemy III in 237 BC. The Temple was abandoned after the Roman Empire became Christian and paganism was outlawed in 391 AD. It lay buried up to its lintels in sand, with homes built over the top, until it was excavated by Auguste Mariette in the 1860s. The sand protected the monument over the years, leaving it very well preserved today. Departing Edfu we sail to an island where we will enjoy a riverbank dinner. Then we sail to Esna. Overnight Cruise / Esna
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 04: Monday DISEMBARK, NECROPOLIS OF THEBES, TEMPLE OF KARNAK
After breakfast on board disembark and travel to Luxor (about 1.5 hours drive). Tour the Necropolis of Thebes including the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon plus the Temple of Karnak. After the tour staff transfers you to your Luxor hotel, the airport or train station.
