The Princess Donia is a two masted dahabiya launched in 2005. It is 118 feet in length (36 meters) 20 feet wide (6.1 meters). With 4 double cabins and 1 double suite. There is a maximum of 10 guests, plus the guide and crew. As the dahabiya has no engine, there is always an accompanying motorboat for towing it if the wind is calm. There is, however, a 24 hour electric power supply, with an onboard generator, and it runs at 220V.
Guest accommodation comprises four en-suite air-conditioned cabins (max. occupancy 2 people) measuring 121 s.f. (11.25 square meters) that can be arranged with two single beds or with a king-size bed. Each cabin is individually named, tastefully decorated and has three large windows so guests can have a great view of the Nile while enjoying the privacy of their own room. The cabins boast Egyptian cotton bedding, flat screen TV, and telephone with ample wardrobe and draw space. The bathrooms are equipped with a power shower, toilet, wash basin and hair dryer. You also have your own steward who is responsible for helping to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
The Owner's suite (max. occupancy 3 people) is fully air-conditioned and spans the full width of the rear of the ship. The suite is more than 162 square feet (15 square meters) with a beautiful lounge that opens onto it's own private terrace which affords panoramic views of the Nile, perfect for entertaining or "when you just want to be alone". The suite has all of the luxury fittings of the cabins but in a more spacious and sumptuous setting.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with water filtration. Snacks and beverages are available around the clock including tea, coffee and mineral water. Meals are served at our large banquet table with enough seating for all guests to eat together. The Salon at the bow of the ship makes a delightful meeting place, as well as providing an alternative location for meals. Borrow a book or DVD from our library, play board games, watch major events on satellite TV or connect with the outside world with our onboard internet connection. The salon is also a place to meet your fellow guests for drinks at the bar before dinner and perhaps discuss the events of the day.
The Upper Deck is the place to be for sun worshippers featuring reclining deck chairs and a cool down shower.
